Breeze Airways Expands: 7 New International Routes You Need to Know! (2026)

Breeze Airways is expanding its international reach with seven new routes set to launch between September and March 2027. This expansion marks a significant step for the airline, which has traditionally focused on domestic operations. The new routes will be operated using Airbus A220s, offering more seats and a premium cabin experience known as Breeze Ascent. This shift to international flights is a strategic move for Breeze, as it aims to diversify its offerings and cater to a wider range of travelers.

One of the key destinations for these new routes is Tampa, which will see three international flights launched. The first, to San Jose in Costa Rica, will commence on October 3, 2026, with twice-weekly services. This will be followed by routes to Cancun in Mexico and Montego Bay in Jamaica, both starting on December 19 and operating twice a week. Tampa International Airport CEO, Michael Stephens, expressed enthusiasm for the new routes, highlighting their potential to enhance travel experiences in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Pittsburgh International Airport will also be a hub for Breeze's international expansion. From January 7, the airline will operate three weekly flights to Cancun and Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, running until March 23. This will be a significant addition to the airport's international offerings, providing more travel options for passengers.

Richmond International Airport will also benefit from a new international route to Cancun, starting on January 8 and running until March 22. This route will offer a twice-weekly service, with a block time of three hours and 46 minutes, covering a distance of 1,271 miles (2,045.5 km).

The final new route will originate from John Glenn Columbus International Airport, with flights to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic, operating twice a week from January 8 to March 22. This route will also feature a four-hour block time.

Despite this international growth, Breeze's international footprint will remain relatively small compared to its extensive domestic operations. In December 2026, the airline will schedule 68 international departures from the US, while domestic flights will total 8,476. The most frequently served international route will be Tampa to Nassau in the Bahamas, with A220s flying four to five times a week. Domestically, the busiest route will be Orlando to Raleigh-Durham, with three daily flights.

This expansion into international travel represents a significant milestone for Breeze Airways, allowing the airline to tap into new markets and cater to a diverse range of travelers. As the airline continues to grow, it will be interesting to see how it further diversifies its offerings and adapts to the evolving needs of its customers.
